The Logitech G500 is an modernize on their ever-popular Mx-style peripherals. As usual, the form factor is fantastic and feels natural in your hand. Sporting a new futuristic visual style with a new rubber-like texture and an new laser sensor with 5,700 Dpi resolution, the G500 is a serious contender for the best gaming mouse on the market.

Though it boasts 10 fully programmable buttons, you will find many of those tied up in ordinary functionality such as right click, left click, back / transmit buttons, and scrolling. Still, there are ample buttons to accomplish anything practice scripts, macros, or actions you would like. The buttons all have great action, though the scrolling wheel (with Logitech's ever-popular frictionless scrolling option) does rock from side to side. Technically this does add two more buttons to the mouse, it also makes the scroll wheel feel cheap and flimsy.

The on-the-fly sensitivity buttons are favorably placed next to the original click button, but are far adequate away that they don't interfere with daily use. During gaming, they are close adequate to find without being distracted. In terms of performance, this mouse was fantastic. Its sensor, placed directly below the scroll wheel to supply more organic movement, is quick, sharp, and precise. While it lacks the twenty-plus on-the-fly dots per inch (Dpi) settings that some of the Razer models might have, the five sensitivity states were more than adequate in our testing. There were no issues with cursor jumping or improper tracking.

The G500 is one of the best gaming mice ready on the market. It is a comfortable, high-performing, authentic gamer's mouse with a bit of attitude. With features such as Logitech's infinite scrolling, the G500 also can undoubtedly be a great every day mouse.
