Depending on what your using your computer for, the drive size matters. For the average computer user 500 Gb is more than sufficient. If your salvage a lot of movies, or a die hard gamer. 500 Gb might fill up fast. So 1 Tb or more would be better. You can even link any drives together to get more space. What do I need?
Depends on what you want to do, if your just surfing the internet, talking to friends or doing some E-Paper work then you'll be fine with a 120 Gb - 500 Gb drive running 7200 Rpm, depending on how much you save.
