10 Yards Off the Tee Tip #1) Tee the Ball To the strict Height-

Drives

Notice I didn't just say, "tee it higher". You need to tee the ball so that about 1/4 of the ball is below the top of the club face. Or 3/4 of the ball is above the top of the club face if resting on the ground.

Teeing the ball too low can originate too much backspin. Teeing it high can do the same. We are trying to tee the ball so that it will hit the sweet spot every time at impact, creating a solid strike with less spin. Less spin means more distance every time.

10 Yards Off the Tee Tip #2) Play the Ball forward in Your Stance-

This tip can mean immediate distance that will have you kicking yourself for not doing it sooner! It's so simple, just move the ball up towards your left foot added and give it a swing on the range to see what happens. Often times, this will allow us to hit up on the ball, which we want to do with the driver (opposite of hitting irons off the ground). Hitting up on it, again, imparts less backspin, which gives you more distance.

10 Yards Off the Tee Tip #3) "Close" Your Stance-

Have you ever seen that small guy that can just rip the ball added than any 6 foot 5 inch guy you know? Why is that? Well, he probably swings on plane, and swings along the strict swing path.

The swing path that will originate the most power, the most penetrating ball flight, and the most roll is the inside to out swing path. That means the club swings from inside the target line (before impact) to covering the target line (after impact).

A straightforward way to accomplish a more inside to out swing path is to aim your feet to the right at address. "But I slice it already! Why would I aim right??" Trust me, if you slice it, then aim your feet even further to the right...okay, you may want to try this on the range first!

Aiming your feet to the greatest right will force your upper body and club to swing more out to the right. It will help you hone that inside to out swing path without verily reasoning about it.

So try those 3 straightforward tips to hit the driver added and you'll be leaving your buddies in the dust, and hitting less club into the greens.
